I'll overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be streamed live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to promote next month's bout.

Ex twice unified title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I will damage his features and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British opponent Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters met for the usual face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually going ahead.
